-Introduction -Problem -Solution -Constraints -System Overview -Testing -Remaining Tasks -Q&A [1]

-Electronic locks generally cost between $70 - $400 [2]. -Normal locks do not have forced entry detection [2]. -The only locks that allow remote unlock are the more expensive versions [3][4]. -Other electronic locks do not have the ability for the user to see what phone was used to unlock the system [2]. [3] [4]

Proposed Features: -Reasonable pricing at mid-market value, approximately $200 -Forced entry detection feature notifies the owner upon attempt -Door entry information: Number of entries, Phone used to unlock, etc.

The system is wired directly into the customer’s electrical system and is therefore as reliable as the power supply. In case of power outage, the system can be powered from the backup power supply for a 24 hour period. [5]

The system will notify the homeowner via SMS if a forced entry is attempted. The user will also be notified whenever the door is unlocked with the external keypad or SMS. [6]

Arduino With GSM SHield Power Supply Keypads Lock LCD Screen Magnetic Switch

-The magnetic switch is used for forced entry detection. -This switch is also used to lock the door back automatically whenever someone has already entered and closed the door.

-The falling edge of the magnetic switch seperating.

-The GSM is what sends and receives SMS between the user and the SLS system.

-These are the AT Commands that are used to initialize the system and show that it is functioning properly.

-To the left are the AT Commands to show that the send SMS is functioning. -Above is the correct AT Commands for the receive SMS to function properly.

-The indoor keypad controls the menu and allows the user to change the parameters of the system. -This keypad also controls what is displayed onto the screen.

-Arduino communicating with the LCD instructing what line to print on and the data to print.

-The outdoor keypad is only used to unlock the system.

-The LED is used to show that a key press was recognized by the arduino.

-The rising and falling edge of the LED indicating a button press on the outdoor keypad.

-The solenoid lock is always in the locked position until a voltage is sent to a transistor to unlock the system.

-The arduino initially sends 5.23V and settles at 5.01V. This voltage spike could be due to our flyback diode.

-Sunny Day Case This is when the GSM initializes and waits for an SMS from the user. When this message is received it will unlock the door if the PIN is correct. -Rainy Day Case This is when the GSM doesn’t initialized correctly and it unable to receive an SMS.

-These are the notifications from our testing.

-Designing and implementing a backup battery.
