1 TRANSFER LEARNING COMMUNITY DHTLC #DHTLC

2 CSUDH ENROLLMENT As of fall 2015, there are a total of 12,562 undergraduate students. * Of those, 58% came to CSUDH as a transfer student Of the 58% who are transfer students, 93% transferred from a California Community College Based on our campus statistics, it is notable that our university services a larger population of transfer students than first time freshman.

4 ABOUT THE #DHTLC This program was created with the vision of expanding institutional support for underrepresented students, and to serve as a bridge for first- time transfer students as they acclimate to their campus environment. The university community of faculty, staff, and various departments will work alongside one another to provide students with the support that is needed for their ultimate success as a new TORO. # DHTLC Participant Benefits Include: CSUDH Advising, beginning at the Community College Opportunity to take a CSUDH Upper-Division G.E. course through Cross-Enrollment Early access to their Major Department Advisor The opportunity to attend Transitional Enrichment Workshops Transfer Peer Coach Students Interested in Participating Must: Be committed to transferring to CSUDH Be in the process of completing their A.A.T/A.S.T Be in the process of completing the minimum CSU transfer eligibility requirements

5 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Interested students will be required to: Meet with the University Advisement Center (UAC) for advising Twice in the summer Once each semester Meet with their Major department once a semester Attend a minimum of one transitional workshop per semester Attend an on campus event Advisors incorporate high impact practices that engage our students, connect them to essential campus resources and faculty, create active learning opportunities that help students identify their life goals and make meaning of course content and its application to real life, and provide feedback and guidance to students selecting courses to be intentional with their time at CSUDH.

6 PROGRAM GOALS Serve as a bridge for incoming transfer students from as they transition and acclimate to a new campus environment. Strengthen the collegiate experience of our transfer students by helping them find their place at CSUDH Serve as a resource to help students be intentional with their time toward degree completion.
