5 MBA-HHM PROGRAME 3 The two year full-time MBA programme in Hospital and Health Care management aims at adopting a synergistic blend of academic knowledge and practical applications in the field of Healthcare. Specially trained cadre of professional managers in this specific arena is what Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences has in its batch of MBA (HHM). The emerging professionals are capable of managing intricacies of the various segments of Healthcare. Students identify themselves in all realms of functioning of the Hospital - Administration, Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR, TQM, Business Development, Insurance, IT, Business Analysis, Public Relations and Medical Tourism. Students are skilled in all the managerial aspects and prove their mettle in Brand Management, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, IPR, Drug Regulations and Sales. Students have apt skills of understanding the Healthcare domain and assist in designing and marketing software; thus making HMIS efficient in improving quality, safety and accessibility of Healthcare. Learnings in Health Insurance equips students to be industry ready to cater to the needs of the customers and help the industry in Product Development, Underwriting, Marketing and Sales, as they understand the legal and medical aspects. Product Requirement Analysis, Marketing, Equipment Planning, Financial Analysis, Installation Management are the key skills of our students with specialization in Hospital and Healthcare Management. Students know the importance of Epidemiology, Community Health, National Healthcare Policies and Biostatistics. This helps them in formulating policies and management of skills vital to effective functioning and cost effective quality care. Special focus on analyzing and developing leadership skills and strategic plans for revenue enhancement enables the students to become consultants to HCOs in planning, designing, assessing and implementing projects successfully. 13 ‘Leaders are not born, they are made’-this line of thought forms the cornerstone of the MBA-HHM program of Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences. To translate this thought into action the Leadership Development Series of MBA-HHM 2014- 16 was initiated on 16th August 2015 by our very own thought-leader, Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar. Driven by the dedicated efforts of the placement team and the wholehearted support of our faculty, this initiative witnessed the participation from several notable dignitaries of the healthcare industry. Through this event the students received the ideal platform to interact with thought leaders from varied healthcare domains and imbibe learning from their experiences and insights. The Leadership Development Series truly succeeded in enhancing the potential of the students as well as acquainting them with the demands and challenges of the healthcare industry.
