TeachING-LearnING-Advisory-Board

TeachING-LearnING.EU2 Advisory-Board-Members Prof. Dr. Susanne Ihsen Fachgebietsleiterin Gender Studies in den Ingenieurwissenschaften TUM School of Education Technische Universität München Arcisstraße München Phone: +49/(0)89 / Fax: +49/(0)89 / Engineering professions as well as engineering education need a change belonging to more interdisciplinarity, more social and political integration and more diverse groups (e.g. women and men, people with several cultural backgrounds, ages) creating and producing for the needs of tomorrow. The development of processes to manage this changing is one of my major tasks. Special interest with regards to engineering education

TeachING-LearnING.EU3 Advisory-Board-Members Ph.D. Anette Kolmos Professor in Engineering Education and PBL and Chairholder for UNESCO Chair in Problem Based Learning in Engineering Education President of the European Association of Engineering Education (SEFI) Aalborg University, Fibigerstaede 13, DK-9920 Aalborg O Phone: + 45/ Fax: +45/

TeachING-LearnING.EU4 Advisory-Board-Members Dr. Mandy Pastohr Wiss. Referentin der acatech - Bereich Projektzentrum acatech – DEUTSCHE AKADEMIE DER TECHNIKWISSENSCHAFTEN Unter den Linden Berlin Phone: +49/(0)30/ Fax: +49/(0)30/ Engineering education has to consider a well balanced composition of hard engineering and soft engineering skills. An either or solution of these two categories would certainly miss a future oriented engineering education concept. This includes solid basics in mathematics/physics/engineering fundamentals, the development of engineering skills and expertise to design and realize products and processes which serve for the needs of tomorrow, working together in interdisciplinary engineering teams, knowing about management principles. A challenge for current and future engineering education is to teach these hard and soft skills in a mutually beneficial way. Special interest with regards to engineering education

TeachING-LearnING.EU5 Advisory-Board-Members Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael E. Auer President of the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP) c/o Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Dept. Systems Engineering Europastrasse 4 A-9524 Villach Austria Phone: +43(5) Fax: +43(5) The aims of the International Society for Engineering Education are inter alia: Improving teaching methods in technical subjects; developing practice-oriented curricula that correspond to the needs of students and employers; encouraging the use of new media in technical teaching; integrating languages and the humanities in engineering education; fostering management training for engineers; promoting environmental awareness; supporting the development of engineering education in developing countries. My personal area of activity as scientist and university teacher is the development, application and networked use of Online Laboratories. Special interest with regards to engineering education

TeachING-LearnING.EU6 Advisory-Board-Members Dr. Frank Stefan Becker Corporate Communications and Government Affairs - Siemens AG Vorsitzender der Bereichsvertretung Ingenieuraus- und -weiterbildung - VDI Siemens AG, CC GD Wittelsbacherplatz München Tel.: +49 (89) Fax: +49 (89) Bridging the gap between the requirements of an academic training and selection process on the one side and the competences required in a professional environment on the other side. How can we encourage and support application-oriented, technology-interested young people that may have difficulties with theory to successfully complete their studies? How many students that did not pass a theory-oriented selection process could have become good engineers and master hands-on challenges? Special interest with regards to engineering education
