Prof. Dr. Susanne Ihsen Fachgebietsleiterin Gender Studies in den Ingenieurwissenschaften TUM School of Education Technische Universität München Arcisstraße München Phone:  +49/(0)89 / Fax: +49/(0)89 / Special interest with regards to engineering education Engineering professions as well as engineering education need a change belonging to more interdisciplinarity, more social and political integration and more diverse groups (e.g. women and men, people with several cultural backgrounds, ages) creating and producing for the needs of tomorrow. The development of processes to manage this changing is one of my major tasks. TeachING-LearnING.EU

Dr. Mandy Pastohr Wiss. Referentin der acatech - Bereich Projektzentrum acatech – DEUTSCHE AKADEMIE DER TECHNIKWISSENSCHAFTEN Unter den Linden Berlin Phone: +49/(0)30/ Fax: +49/(0)30/ Special interest with regards to engineering education Engineering education has to consider a well balanced composition of hard engineering and soft engineering skills. An either or solution of these two categories would certainly miss a future oriented engineering education concept. This includes solid basics in mathematics/physics/engineering fundamentals, the development of engineering skills and expertise to design and realize products and processes which serve for the needs of tomorrow, working together in interdisciplinary engineering teams, knowing about management principles. A challenge for current and future engineering education is to teach these hard and soft skills in a mutually beneficial way. TeachING-LearnING.EU

Dr. Frank Stefan Becker Corporate Communications and Government Affairs - Siemens AG Vorsitzender der Bereichsvertretung Ingenieuraus- und -weiterbildung - VDI Siemens AG, CC GD Wittelsbacherplatz 2 80333 München Tel.: +49 (89) Fax: +49 (89) Special interest with regards to engineering education Bridging the gap between the requirements of an academic training and selection process on the one side and the competences required in a professional environment on the other side. How can we encourage and support application-oriented, technology-interested young people that may have difficulties with theory to successfully complete their studies? How many students that did not pass a theory-oriented selection process could have become good engineers and master hands-on challenges? TeachING-LearnING.EU
