1 Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

2 A Most Exalted Lord

3 What Did Jesus Teach? He taught that the first would be last and the last first. He taught that the most humble would be the most exalted.

4 What Did Jesus Do? What Jesus taught, He actually lived.

5 The Great Reward We’ve been considering the value of a self-less life.
Let’s see how God rewards such humble living.

6 The Results of Obedience
Remember that Jesus submitted, surrendered, humbled and sacrificed Himself for us. As a result of that lifestyle and example: God exalted Him to the highest place God gave Him the highest name

7 The Exalted Reign of Jesus
Jesus is exalted in this present world. He has the name that is above all other names. Acts 4:12 – “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

8 Hebrews 1:4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

9 Exalted in Eternity Every knee will bow
Every knee will acknowledge the sovereignty of the Lord.

10 Revelation 5:13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:    "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"

11 To The Glory Of God Everything we do should be done to glorify God.
Either we bow our knees willingly now, or we will be forced to bow our knees later. Jesus is Lord. Understand?

12 Co-heirs With Christ If we will have the mind of Christ we will reign with Christ. If our attitudes are properly adjusted to reflect Jesus the Lord, then we will share in the glory God has given to Him.

13 Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Do you see the “if” here? We are co-heirs through participation with Christ

14 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” If we have the attitude of Christ, we will have immeasurable glory forever and ever.

15 We Must Have The Mind of Christ
And we must share His attitude. Humble, simple, godly living now results in exalted, glorified living in eternity. Bow now? Or bow later. Which will we choose?
