Palm Sunday

Crown him with many crowns, The Lamb upon his throne; Hark how the heav'nly anthem drowns All music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing Of him who died for thee, And hail him as thy matchless King Through all eternity.

Crown him the Lord of love -- Behold his hands and side, Rich wounds, yet visible above, In beauty glorified. No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight, But downward bends his wond'ring eye At mysteries so bright.

Crown him the Lord of heav'n, Enthroned in worlds above; Crown him the King to whom is giv'n The wondrous name of Love. Crown him with many crowns As thrones before him fall; Crown him, ye kings, with many crowns For he is King of all.

Ho-ho-ho hosanna, Ha-ha-ha halleluia, He-he-he saved me. I’ve got the joy of the Lord!

Palm Sunday

Go to dark Gethsemane, Ye that feel the tempter's pow'r; Your Redeemer's conflict see. Watch with him one bitter hour; Turn not from his griefs away; Learn of Jesus Christ to pray.

Do-n’t you know that Jesus died? Ra-ised again in three short days Me the one for whom he died Fa-r away he took my sins So I love him even more Lo-ve I never knew before Ti - the shape of Calvary. Do-n’t you know Jesus died for me? Hallelujah!

Palm Sunday

NIV Philippians 2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Attitude = way of thinking and approaching daily life. Temperament or demeanor. What was Jesus’ attitude? By nature we are angry, grouchy, grumpy, self-centered, impatient and unhappy when things do not go well. This is not the same as Jesus.

NIV Philippians 2:6 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, For Jesus, being true God was a good and wonderful existence. He lacked nothing. He faced no threats. He enjoyed eternal rule with the Father and the Holy Spirit. There were no doubts or anxieties.

NIV Philippians 2:6 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, Why would he not selfishly cling to the full use of his divine power? Only one force moved him to selflessly put aside the full use of his divine nature - his love for us.

NIV Philippians 2:7-8 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross! 9 He was conceived by the Holy Spirit Born of the Virgin Mary Suffered under Pontius Pilate Was crucified Dead And buried.

Made in every way just as we are - but without sin. Our awful sin is loaded on him and he is humbled to death on a cross. His perfect life is credited to us! He carried out the Great Exchange!

NIV Philippians 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven. And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Humbled Exalted With Jesus perfect life, innocent death and powerful resurrection in view, what shall we now do by faith?

NIV Philippians 2:10-11 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Selfless Servant Suffering on our way to glory

Palm Sunday

All glory, laud, and honor To Thee, Redeemer, King, To whom the lips of children Made sweet hosannas ring. Thou didst accept their praises, Accept the prayers we bring, Who in all good delightest, Thou good and gracious King.
