Capital Region Early Middle College

Overview The Capital Region Early/Middle College (EMC) allows students to earn a free associate’s degree or certificate by completing a “13 th ” grade of high school. Students delay high school graduation for one year, while they take college courses at Lansing Community College or Davenport University.

Selection for EMC Students will need to apply for the EMC Application process is being developed Beginning courses of study will be in: Automotive Collision Repair Criminal Justice Welding Business Academy

Early Middle College Delivery Student recognized as eligible for EMC Student completes application process 9th grade Student recognized as eligible for EMC College Success Strategies Course 10th grade CTE Program @ CPC Academics Classes @ Local School 11th grade CTE Program @ CPC Academics Classes @ Local School 12th grade Student completes program of study at Lansing Community College or Davenport University 13th grade

11th Year CTE Program – paid for by millage Academic Classes – at High school High School keeps all of their FTE

12th Year CTE Program – paid for by millage Academic Classes – at High school High School keeps all of their FTE

13th Year High School collects the FTE The student attends LCC or Davenport full time A portion of the FTE pays for the students academic classes at LCC or Davenport A portion of the FTE pays for the students CTE classes at LCC or Davenport The remainder of the FTE stays with the school – that amount depends on the students course of study.
