My Digital Footprint BY: ANTON CHEREVKO

When I googled my self I was only able to find a record of my name from the Greater Vancouver Orienteering Club or my cadet corps.

But when I dug a bit deeper, I was able to find my name for my Tae Kwon Do school, where I teach and train, as well as a record of my name for a ham radio course, so it wasn’t that bad.

So for my future employers that are researching me will see some good thing about me like my first job and what I do for my spare time.

So with a couple of taps of the keyboard I was able to find a lot of information about me or some other Anton in the world just like that.

If your future employer were to search you up on google or any other social media if they found something bad or negative that you posted or said then you can pretty much kiss your job goodbye.

Or if a school, college or university were to research you and if they found something bad you might not end up with going to the school you wanted to go to.

I would like to give you 3 little tips on how to keep that digital print clean,

1: Never comment about someone or something negatively or offensively, that can show up no problem an employer searches you up on Facebook or any other social media.

2: Don’t make dumb usernames for your important accounts, because if any person that is researching you types your name in on a social media they find your username, if it’s something inappropriate or offensive they will make assumptions about you that might not be the best.

3: Don’t have friends that have really ridiculous usernames or that makes really bad comments, because that might reflect what type of people that you consider “friends”

As well ass something that I learned during this project is that information now travels so fast that I less than 10 seconds some one could receive one of your comments or messages from half across the world, so please be careful on what you post and what comments you make because if you don’t it could screw up your future and your whole life.
