How do we show movement in math? Created by the team of J.Monzingo, C.Rivera, & R.Sears

Graphs Movement in math is shown by graphing.

Slope Slope is the rate of change over time. Slope tells whether something is moving towards us or away from us. Slope tells us whether something is getting bigger or smaller.

Positive & Negative Slope Positive slope moves up as it goes to the right. Negative slope moves down as it goes to the right. No slope is a vertical line. Zero slope

Y-Intercept Y-Intercept tells us where we begin. It tells us how high we start.

Maximum & Minimum Maximum tells us the biggest something can get. It tells the highest something can go. It tells us the lowest an object can go.

Parabolas A parabola shows the curve of a ball as it is thrown. A parabola could be the shape of a jump rope held by two people from the same height.
