8 What score would you give this? Why?
What is the mood of the song/lyrics? Use evidence from the lyrics to support your thinking. “I think that the mood of the song is confident because I can tell he is confident!” This would get a score of 1 because it answers the question but is missing details and text support.

9 What score would you give this? Why?
What is the mood of the song/lyrics? Use evidence from the lyrics to support your thinking. “I think that the mood is confident because the writer says “I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky” That means he thinks he can do it!” This would get a score of 2 because it answers the questions and has support from the text. You need to explain your thinking to get a 3.

10 What score would you give this? Why?
What is the mood of the song/lyrics? Use evidence from the lyrics to support your thinking. “I think that the mood is confident. Confident means that you know you can do something. In his song R. Kelly’s words show he is confident. The lyric “If I just believe it, there is nothing to it,” shows that he believes in himself. He knows that he can do anything if he puts his mind to it. That shows confidence and inspires the reader to feel the same way. He even says “I believe in you.” at the end of the song.” This would get a score of 3 because it answers the question, has text support, and explains the thinking in the answer.

11 Now you try… Open Song in Mood.doc
Use the lyrics to help you write your answer.
