This is my introduction to the composite materials and their applications. In this presentation I am going to be writing about: Types of composite materials Advantages of composite materials People who work with composite materials Summary References.

This is my introduction about composite materials. In this project I will be looking at The types of composite materials the advantages of composite materials people who work with composite materials Summary References

Glass – reinforced plastic (GRP). This is a composite material and it could also be a fibre – reinforced plastic made of a plastic reinforced by fine fibres that are made of glass. There are types of composite materials here are some of them: Sports equipment There are some in racing cars Some materials are in aeroplanes

Carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is a strong light and quite expensive composite material or fibre reinforced plastic. Similar to glass – reinforced plastic which is called fibreglass the composite material is commonly referred to by the name of it’s reinforcing fibres (carbon fibre).

Here are some of the advantages of composite materials: Light weight. Very strong. They don’t rust.

Here are 3 advantages of composite materials: 1)Light weight 2) very strong 3) don’t rust

People have to use composite materials in trainers because it makes them light on your feet so it makes people like basketball players easier to play as it is easier to move about better.

The composite materials are used in tennis rackets because : light easy to pick up move quickly when in a game

The composite materials are used in a racket because: easy to move around with light easy to pick up

Composite materials are used in bikes because: easy to ride move quicker because they are light don’t rust

Composite materials are used in bikes because: easy to ride move quicker because they are light don’t rust

Engineer. Engineers apply technology to build things. Most of engineering disciplines will be involved in building composition. Some of the engineers tasks are: Stress analysis Structural design Materials processing Control system Industrial processes. Engineers must have an undergraduate degree, and many have Masters. Doctorates are less common.

Scientists develop the technologies that engineers apply. In general then, they are more involved in basic research such as materials development and structural theory. Of course many engineers perform research and many scientists work on engineering applications most scientists have doctorates fewer shop at a masters or bachelors.

Technician are at the risk of oversimplifying again, technicians are people who have the most hands on work. Technicians lay up the composites, they do machining, they also produce the drawings. Technicians can develop high skills which are mainly learned during there career of being a technician.

Any company needs staff for management businesses development, sales, quality assurance, scheduling and other tasks which are not directly technical. Some of these positions require detailed technical knowledge and they are often filled by former engineers or technicians. Even though engineers might have advanced degrees some business courses or even an MBA will help the transition into management.

In this project I included information on composite materials and said about the advantages and disadvantages of them. And I also talked about some people who worked with composite materials and objects that they are used in.
