2. Locations and Tribes The earliest Woodland tribes were Adana,and Hopewell Inhabited areas of Ohio, Virginia, Wyoming, Kentucky, Indiana, and Pennsylvania Some tribes were Algonquin, and Iroquois. Woodland tribes were headquartered in Oklahoma Woodland were given three reservations in 1817in Ohio

Lodging and Food They caught fish with a hook, spear, and nets The women grew corn, squash, and beans, the men hunted deer with bow and arrows or caught fish They were very big on deer hunting, fishing, and farming The Indian houses were the Cedar Plank House, the Hogan’s, and the teepee More Indian houses were the Longhouse and the pueblo

Lifestyles Deer skin clothing Cooking was done in hollow of wood and bark or simple black pottery Deer skin was the most popular choice for clothing because of the abundant deer population in the area how ever they commonly used other skins like raccoon or elk skin The Indians in the Eastern Woodland culture lived cast of the Plains Indians Their food, shelter, clothing, weapons and tools came from the forests around them The Eastern Woodlands Algonquins decorated clothing and art with great detail beadwork and quills They lived in villages near a lake or stream
