1 There is/There are 1.- W e use There is/there are to say that something exists (haber). 2. - W e use: There is+singular noun. “There is a ball in this picture” There are+plural nouns. “ There are 2 boys in this picture”

2 There is/are 3.- There is is contracted to “there's”. There are is not usually contracted. 4. -When we talk about a list of things we use there is if the first word in the list is singular or there are if the first word in the list is plural: “In my living-room there's a sofa, two chairs and a tv” “In my bedroom there are two desks, and a bed ”

4 5.-A/AN SOME/ANY We often use there is/are with a/an some/any. There is a book in this picture Use Some/any with plural nouns when we don't know the exact number. “There are some toys on the picture” (in + sentences) Are there any toys on the picture?(in questions) There aren't any toys on the picture. (in - sentences)
