2 Specific Goals of an Assessment of Afghanistan’s Undiscovered Oil and Gas Resources: u Provide: Scientific data and analyses to assist the Afghan Government in energy resource planning and development u Provide: Training to prepare Afghan Petroleum Geologists to conduct future assessments independently u Attract: Private investment for exploration and development

3 Assessment Products u Product: Assessment Results u Product: Basic Geographic Information System Containing: Geologic, Structural, Seismic, Field, Well, Pipeline, Sample Location, and Base Maps u Product: Total Petroleum System Geologic Reports u Product: Trained personnel u Product: Seismic data: digital profiles new seismic acquisition?
