3 Assignments __________ Assignments Calendar Course Descriptions Grading Links Requirements Home College Prep students keep the weekly written work In a notebook which is due the day of a chapter test. That is approximately every two weeks. Only one late notebook will be accepted a semester. They are due by 3pm of the day due. Students who are absent for assignments have one day plus the number of days absent to had them in. This is district policy. A student may ask for extra time upon return to school and I will decide at that time based on the circumstances. Students who are absent and want to keep up may get assignments that are posted at the address on the links page.

5 Course Descriptions __________ Assignments Calendar Course Requirements Grading Links Requirements Home World Cultures is a combined study of economics, culture, History, politics, and religion of the regions of the world. These include, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America General Level – Limited homework, weekly quizzes, and chapter tests. Most work is accomplished in class. Most quizzes and tests are open notebook or textbook. College Prep Level – Weekly reading and written assign- ments, weekly quizzes, and chapter tests about every two weeks. Much more homework and evaluations are not open notebook or open textbook.

6 Grading __________ Assignments Calendar Course Descriptions Grading Links Requirements Home Marking period grades are determined by dividing the total actual points divided by total actual points. Semester grades are determined according to this formula: 1 st semester grade x 2 2 nd semester grade x 2 semester exam x 1 divided by 5 = semester grade The final grade is determined by adding the two semester grades and dividing by two.

( Only one late notebook allowed per semester for college prep students. ) Bring your textbook and needed materials to class. A midterm and final exam. ( The final is not compre- hensive. ) Projects completed by using the computer labs. Students wishing to attend meetings during class time must maintain a C average or better to be excused. ( Grad Project meetings are an exception. )
