These two students will then tie their pieces of string together. 4. Person to the right will take their turn 5. Continue these steps until everyone has shared and tied their string

4 Professional educators interact with colleagues, families, the community, and in professional organizations to promote student achievement. Students rarely observe teachers in these activities, yet these activities are important to enhancing student achievement.

5  Teachers fulfill key assignments in school and district projects.  They assume their share of duties that help school function smoothly.  They are generous with their expertise and willing to share materials and insights.  They collaborate on major projects that require considerable investment of time and energy.

8 The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) has designated the roles assumed outside the classroom as evidence of “true professionalism.” To meet the NBPTS standard, the service must provide evidence of benefiting students’ learning.

9 Teachers generally begin serving outside of their classroom after they have a few years of experience, after they have begun to master classroom management and instruction.
