2. How do you get your news?  TV  Printed Sources (Magazine, Newspaper)  Internet  Radio

3. What is a credible news source? YESNO Local TV News (NBC4, FOX5, ABC7) OPINIONS Newspapers (Washington Post, NY Times) The Onion or similar news satire sites News Networks (BBC, CNN, FOX, MSNBC) Anything that looks suspicious or comes from an unfamiliar site. Radio (NPR) Anything on Facebook or Twitter feed. (Unless from one of our yes sources)

4. News we don’t want to see  News from an obscure website or tabloid  News predicting some future disaster or spreading some crazy conspiracy theory.  New showing an obvious bias toward or against a particular group. (might be opinion)  Entertainment or Sports news.

5. How to create a Current Events Log 1.Choose a current article or news story that can be applied to Government (local, state, or national) 2.Read or listen to the whole story. (not just the headline!!!) 3.Journal in your log the main idea and any interesting information. Be sure to include the who, what, where, and when. Also include how it relates to Government and/or affects you. (Does not need to be long, 2-3 sentences) 4.Bring it to class and be ready to discuss on the last day of class during the week. (Thurs or Fri)
