3 Taking a closer look… Technology Productivity Tools Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology-enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other creative works.

4 Description Students will use technology tools to collaborate on a variety of projects to enhance their learning, productivity, and creativity. These tools will allow kids to do things that they wouldn’t be able to do with just pencil and paper. They can acquire more information through a wider variety of tools and be able to demonstrate this knowledge through a variety of collaborative works. These tools can provide an alternative way to demonstrate creativity, but not necessarily the best way.

5 One performance indicator Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, Web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom

6 Sample activity – One Student Activity Students will be able to access a bookmarked website on a daily basis to collect and record information.

8 Question 5 : Interdisciplinary Instructional Unit Accessing weather of a city in the world on web page (city selected with help from parents) - Reading Recording information on paper and on computer to be posted in hallway and classroom webpage - Communication Graphing weather of cities over time (on paper and using GraphClub Software or Excel) – Math

9 Question 6 : Assessments Students will be able to identify and accurately describe the weather of their selected city for the observed period of time.
