11 6 th Form Independent Learning Academy’s drive to improve attainment & encourage independent learning Additional designated timetabled 5 th lesson a Private study for each subject These lessons are distinct from the 4 x ISLs which the students select themselves.

12 Teachers will set 2 sections of work: 1. Homework which is collected in and marked accordingly 2. Weekly Private Study Lessons tasks set which are checked and verified by the teacher but not necessarily marked

14 Independent Study Lessons (ISLs ) Choose to work in either the 6 th Form study centre, Library or any classroom where a member of staff can accommodate them. It is in this lesson that students should complete their Homework or extra research/reading around a subject (draft, correct & redraft)
