3 Expectations By the end of this virtual tour through Egypt you will be able to:  Recognize some of the major cities in Egypt and what can be found in each city.  Complete the quiz at the end by referring to previous slides.  Master facts and research on one city in Egypt by creating a fact poster with various pictures.

5 Where is Egypt?  Egypt is a country in northern Africa.  Majority of the population lives near the Nile River.  Egypt is home to some of the world’s most famous monuments, cities, and pyramids.

9 Luxor  Nicknamed “The Open Air Museum”  Luxor has many tourists attractions including Temples and Tombs.  The Mummification Museum is located in Luxor. 10 The Red Sea  The Red Sea is located East of Egypt. It was created from moving plates in the Earth. The Red Sea supplies the surrounding countries with the only source of water. The Red Sea is actually not red at all, it is blue. 11 The Nile River FACTS  The Nile River is the longest river in the WORLD, measuring at 4,184 miles long.  The Nile River is the main and only river in Egypt. Click on the picture to learn more about The Nile River.
