9 Reading workshop Reading literature with the teacher of the corrisponding lecture Assignment: – At the end of each workshop, each group will write one page reflection on what they have learnt at the workshop. – In groups – Hand-in on paper or electronically (via email to elena.raviola@handels.gu.se) elena.raviola@handels.gu.se

10 Testing workshop Questions about theory Answering those questions in class in group. Handing in the answers to ER at the end of the workshop. In the following lecture, ER will give feedback on the testing workshop

11 Analysis workshop (AW) Given some field material Perform different tasks in groups – AW1: Formulating the problem – AW2: Analyzing material in vivo – AW3: Analyzing material with theory Assignment: – At the end of each AW, each group will write one/two pages about the task at hand in the workshop

12 Academic writing workshop Learning how to write in academia Discussing the previous assignments in AW1,2,3 and putting them together.

13 Final group project Task: to scientifically analyze field material, provided by ER. – Defining a problem – Choosing a theoretical perspective – Scientifically analyzing the material at hand to address the chosen problem with the chosen theoretical perspective – Academically writing up the report. Max 10 pages, Times New Roman 12, 1.5 interline (excluding references).

14 Important dates 23 september: Testing workshop 18 october, 12 o’clock: Deadline for supervision draft. Upload on GUL. 26 october, 9 o’clock: Deadline for project draft for presentation. Upload on GUL. 28-29 october: project presentations. 30 october: exam 2 november: Deadline for handing in the final project report. Upload on GUL

15 Assessment Learning outcomes are assessed through group work and individual exam: – Group work: max 30 points 10 points for lecture and workshop assignments, including the testing workshop 20 points for the group project – Exam: max 70 points
