Topic:  The goal of my presentation is to convince the University of Pennsylvania to buy my type of bat.  I have researched and tested 3 different types of bat types (metal, wood, and composite.)

My Test  At my house I had a test of my own. I found wood, metal, and composite bats and took 7 swings for each bat. I tested power, strength, length the ball flew, and sting the bat and ball produced. I think the test went well and is on the next slide graph.

Comparison between metal, wood, and composite bats

Positives and Negatives MetalComposite Made of alloy or aluminum.Won bat war in 2002. Improved skills past wood.Lightest. Lighter and stronger.Larger barrels and sweet spots. Ball bounces off bat like trampoline.Compares to the BBCOR bat which you must use in college. MetalCompositeWood Dent over time.Break below 55 degrees Break easily. Expensive. Most expensive.Don’t go far. Wood Weak off bat. Not as far.

The Bat  After all my tests and research I knew that I needed to choose a bat to sell.. After my results I decided that the composite/BBCOR bat would be the best bat type. Also I found out that in college, players must use a BBCOR bat. A BBCOR bat is a metal or composite bat that doesn’t hit the ball as hard at players to prevent injury. Also I found out that the bat must be a drop 3. That means that if the bat is 34 inches long, the bats weight is only 31 ounces; a drop 3. I decided that a 34 inch, 31 ounce bat is the best length and weight for college athletes. The longer the bat, the more length the bat can cross.

My Bat Decision  My decision for the bat is a 2015 MAKO TORQ Easton Composite/BBCOR Bat.  This bat is above 32 inches so the bat price is $549.99 per bat. This bat is the top of the game and is the newest version. If this university does not buy another bat for 3 years, this bat will still outdo 90% of the other bats in 2-4 years. This is the best bat right now and will help this team win many of their games.

Bat Logo  This is the design logo for each bats barrel. It has the teams mascot and baseball and baseball bat signs.

How Did My Test Help Decide My Bat Choice?  My test helped because when I tested each bat type, their was a difference in power and that was proven through my research. In my test, wood was the first bat to be eliminated from my bat choice because of its weak power. Then, thanks to my research, I discovered that college athletes are required to have a BBCOR bat. So then I chose the composite/BBCOR bat.

Conclusion  My conclusion is, based on my research, that the best type of baseball bat is the Mako BBCOR/Composite 34 inch, 31 ounce baseball bat. My research proved that this bat is the best bat of its time.
