3 In these final chapters the enemies are within, not oppressors from without. The False worship of Israel leads to confusion, depravity and internal warfare.

4 MAKING YOUR OWN GODS- Personally (17) and Corporately (18) How do we “make our own gods”? The most serious way we do this is by consciously rejecting part of the Scriptural revelation of God

5 Ignoring or avoiding those aspects of revelation we don’t like. Another way we do this is by subjectivizing all morality

8 Ruth is a great story of covenant faithfulness and faith of a foreign girl who adopts the faith of Israel. Highlighted is the faith of one man and several women, not to mention a whole community, who are portrayed as faithful to the covenant.

9 “May he become famous throughout Israel” – Ruth 4:13 RUTH is the great grand-mother of David, who as king, is a type of Christ. Come Thou Long Expected Jesus!!
