4. Can Food Drive/Book Drive  Example of Indirect Service  Engage in a can food drive to provide canned food for shelters around the time of Thanksgiving  Engage in a book/toy drive to provide a book to each child in a classroom or several classrooms

Advocacy  Definition  Lend talents and voice to community issue.  Educate the public about an issue.  Create social or grassroots action.  Examples  Make presentations to community regarding community problem;  Letter writing campaign;  Create and distribute flyers  What is learned  Oral presentation skills  Writing skills  Problem solving  Research skills  Community Involvement  Making a difference
