Case studies were collected from Participants of Flood Affected districts in Karnataka and Web sites.
Documentation of past Disasters in 3 districts (Udupi, Karwar, Belgaum).
Inventory of Landslides in Karnataka prepared.

Karnataka stands second only to Rajasthan in terms of total area under arid/semi-arid conditions
Low & medium rainfall regions which constitute more than 50% of the total areas, are vulnerable to periodical drought

24. Landslide Vulnerability
Western Ghats areas are prone to Landslides (Six districts - Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Shimoga, D.Kannada and U.Kannada).

Karnataka has coastal line of 300 km which is prone to sea erosion during the monsoon.
