Technology Technology continues to advance, forcing society to develop methods that facilitate adaptation to change. One of the biggest changes that has affected society over the last few years is the increasing use and sophistication of technology in the form of cloud computing, Wi-Fi, Web 2.0 and emerging Web 3.0 tools, and mobile computing devices, to name a few. These developments, which have resulted in modifications in the way business is accomplished and communication occurs, have required industries to rapidly adapt and be ready for ongoing change. A schedule design for optional periods of time/objectives.

Diversity A degree in higher education offers many benefits. Not only does higher education enable people to gain skills and grow intellectually, it also challenges individuals to broaden their understanding of the world around them. Employers continue to seek individuals who embrace changing technologies and demonstrate an appreciation of ethnic and cultural diversity, competency in effective communication, and the ability to set goals and achieve them. Introductory notes.

Communication Completing a college education is a unique opportunity to learn the technical skills and develop the characteristics needed to acquire a job and continue your personal growth in the ever-changing 21st century work environment. This will help you communicate in the field you are trying to succeed in. Objectives for instruction and expected results and/or skills developed from learning.

Goal-Orientation Embracing your academic experience requires taking responsibility for what you learn. Taking responsibility begins with self-reflection and assessment of your goals, attitudes, and motivation. Setting goals will help you achieve what you want in life. Relative vocabulary list.

Self-Reflection Self-Reflection is the process of making an assessment of your thoughts, actions, consequences of your behavior, and, based on your assessment, determining how you can modify your thoughts and actions to optimize your professional and personal growth. A list of procedures and steps, or a lecture slide with media.

Self-Reflection As you proceed through your first year of school, ask yourself these types of self-reflection questions as they pertain to your academic accomplishments to date. What has been my best experience at school so far? The worst? Have my college experiences been what I expected? What outside activities (internships, volunteering, clubs, organizations) can I do that will enhance my learning experiences? Have I set realistic and attainable goals for myself? Am I on track with those goals? What truly motivates me? Am I in the right program of study? Example graph/chart.

Self-Reflection Effective self-reflection requires honesty and the ability to prioritize engaging in the process. Honest self-reflection supports goal setting and motivation by giving direction through self-awareness. Use self-reflection to your advantage both in your personal and professional life. Example graph/chart.

Goal Setting Goal setting is an important part of succeeding in college. By setting goals, you accomplish the following: You set a “road map” for where you want to go. You are able to select the most appropriate method(s) for reaching your goal. You are able to more easily gauge your progress toward your goal. You are able to make adjustments to your goal and methods as needed. Know when you have reached your goal and can appreciate your accomplishment. Conclusion to course, lecture, et al.

Goal Setting Another important aspect of goal setting is it cyclic nature. Achieving goals or steps toward them usually makes you aware of new areas for growth and learning, setting the stage for new goals. When you review your progress toward a goal, determine new goals you can set for continue growth and development. Goal setting is an ongoing process that should continue as part of your lifelong learning. An opportunity for questions and discussions.

Conclusion I hope this was beneficial to everyone in class. Good luck on the final!
