4 Accomplished Proposed a "one-fluid" theory of electricity, which is charges lost by one body must be gained by another in equal amounts. Now known as the “law of conservation of charge”, it remains a fundamental scientific tenet. His famous kite experiment proved that lightning is an electric charge which led him to invent the lightning rod.
