2. Background Bolton Community Network was set up in October 2001 1 of the 88 Community Empowerment Networks set up in NRF areas Initial purpose was to empower communities to participate in the LSP and Neighbourhood Renewal Constant change

Our aim To empower communities to have an influential voice in decision-making in Bolton by: Increasing the number and influence of community representatives on decision-making bodies Developing the capacity of groups to participate – with a particular emphasis on hard to engage communities Supporting groups to work together to have a stronger collective voice Influencing public sector partners of the value of community engagement
