5. Intubation lab is born! First students practiced on intubation models –Different airways, masks were demonstrated also Then students practiced on the HPS

8. HPS labs were offered 3 different cases related to previous learned cases Tetanus (revisited) Heart Failure COPD and elevated BP

9. Goals for the experience Learn to get a history in a more emergent setting Utilize physical diagnosis skills Pharmacology and “real-time” physiologic changes Learn to use medical equipment Teamwork

10. Observations Students tended to talk to me Worked through the problems through a biomedical model Tended to rely on the monitor and not their own assessment
