1 Technological Systems Unit 1 ~ How They Work Lesson 3 ~ Systems Thinking
Explanation

2 Technological systems include input, process, output, and at times, feedback.
An open-loop system has no feedback path and requires human intervention, while a closed-loop system uses feedback. Systems thinking involves considering how every part relates to others.

3 A system can include processes as well as things.
Technological systems can be connected to one another. The output from one part of a system (which can include material, energy, or information) can become the input to other parts. Such feedback can serve to control what goes on in the system as a whole.

4 Almost all control systems have inputs, outputs, and feedback
Almost all control systems have inputs, outputs, and feedback. The essence of control is comparing information about what is happening to what people want to happen and then making appropriate adjustments. This procedure requires sensing information, processing it, and making changes. In almost all modern machines, microprocessors serve as centers of performance control.

5 2. Concept mapping can be used to graphically display information and relationships among components of a system.
