6 Content of OT Evaluation Section 1: Fundamentals of practice Ethics (1 – 4 points) Safety (1 – 4 points) Judgment (1 – 4 points) Note: The student must pass this section, which is section #1, to successfully complete FW. Must receive at least 9 points in this section 6

7 Rating Scale of FWPE 7 4 = Exceeds Standards 3 = Meets Standards 2 = Needs Improvement 1 = Unsatisfactory Performance is highly skilled and self-initiated. This rating is rarely given and would represent the top 5% of all the students you have supervised. Performance is consistent with entry-level practice. This rating is infrequently given at midterm and is a strong rating at final. Performance is progressing but still needs improvement for entry-level practice. This is a realistic rating of performance at midterm and some ratings of 2 may be reasonable at the final. Performance is below standards and requires development for entry-level practice. This rating is given when there is concern about performance.

8 Scoring System of FWPE Each item must be scored Ethics, safety, & judgment items must be passed Each item rating is recorded on Performance Rating Summary Sheet All items are totaled at midterm/final Total score is compared to midterm or final rating scales 8

9 Midterm and Final Scores of the FWPE Overall Midterm Score Satisfactory: 90 & above Unsatisfactory: 89 & below Overall Final Score Pass: 122 & above Fail: 121 & below 9

10 Final Score Scenario Minimum Passing Score = 122 points Section I: must receive between 9 & 12 points 3 questions, Likert Scale 1 – 4 Sections II – VII: must receive between 113 and 156 points 39 questions, Likert Scale 1 – 4 Examples: Minimum passing score, 9 + 113 = 122 points Section I: 9 points Sections II – VII: 1/3 “4” 52 points 1/3 “3” 39 points 1/3 “2” + 26 points 126 points 10
