2 Page 2 Remote Transaction Protocol Update Based on the agreement from the San Francisco LBS Roaming Summit QUALCOMM created a draft protocol spec for the Remote Transaction Protocol for PDE interconnection Protocol Spec is on the LBS Wiki Page Interested parties are encouraged to review and comment Ideally the specification could be released as final at the March CDG IRT

5 Page 5 General Packet Format

6 Page 6 Remote Transaction Protocol Update H-PDE ID / V-PDE ID Identify the H-PDE and V-PDE The H-PDE sets these parameters in the request package The PDE addresses are configurable and are set by mutual agreement among the carriers Session ID Identifies the transactions associated with an IS-801 session at the H-PDE The value is set by the H-PDE and reflected by the V-PDE in the response Transaction ID Identifies the individual transaction The value is set by the H-PDE and reflected by the V-PDE in the response The transaction ID must uniquely identify the transaction at the H-PDE It will be used in combination with the H-PDE identity to identify the transaction at the V-PDE interface
