All Rights Reserved. www.schoolnutrition.org Just a Little Bit of History 1982 – increased dues by more than 50% 1991 – dues increase (33%) and motion to review dues every 2 Years 1997 – dues increase; P-T dues eliminated –Directors by $15 (25%) –Managers and Employees by $3 (15%) 2002 – directors only increase of $10 (13%) 2004 – dues increase –Directors by $5 (6%) –Managers by $4 (17%) –Employees by $2 (9%)

All Rights Reserved. www.schoolnutrition.org Why a Dues Increase Now Cost of doing business continues to escalate –Printing, paper, and postage –Office supplies, equipment, telephone service –Professional services (audit, legal, technical) –Advocacy requirements –Rent, labor, insurance and benefits –Meetings, speakers, audiovisual, meals

Pushed sponsorships and partnerships for new programs and services. SNA employees paying a higher portion of healthcare costs. Cut administrative expenses by making adjustments to employee salaries and benefits.
