10 Council of Ministers Approval: Option 3: Develop a Canadian standard for EOBRs leveraging the work already undertaken in the US  Incorporates key elements of US rule  Provides Canada the flexibility to consider compatibility with the US Direct CCMTA to continue to monitor US rulemaking and implementation for Canadian carriers 10

11 Current Environmental Scan CCMTA has awarded a contract to FP Innovations Ltd. to develop a Canadian National Safety Code (NSC) standard on EOBR’s for CMV use in Canada. $80,000 The RFP referenced four deliverables –Deliverable 1 : Outline key elements of the standard; –Deliverable 2 : Preliminary draft of the standard; –Deliverable 3 : Final draft; –Deliverable 4 : Final standard. 11
