Math

If you stacked $20 bills until you reached $1 million, would the stack be higher than the rim of a basketball hoop?

Two Parts of the answer StrategyTactics Consider the right tools to answer your question. Break your answer into parts and decide on your chain. You need to search for information, but also to do some math. You need a calculator and a search engine. Luckily, Google search does both! You can start with searching or calculating, as long as you set up your math problem correctly.

Hints Things to think about as you get started 1 2 How thick are $20 bills? Do you think all bills are the same thickness? How high is a basketball hoop? Is there a standard height for basketball hoops?

Let’s Begin! 1.Begin by Dividing. (Hint- You will divide 1,000,000 by another number – how many twenties does it take to get to a million) 2.Search the thickness of an American dollar bill and multiple that by the answer from step 1. 3.Then find out the regulation height of a basketball rim. 4.Convert your answer from inches to feet. 5.Is it taller than a basketball rim? Yes/No (You will also need to state in your response how tall a stack of $20.00 bills, worth 1,000,000 dollars is in either feet or inches. 6.Fill in your Answer in the Comment/Form box below.
