 BACKGROUND  PROJECT DELIVERABLES  USE SCENARIO  STAKEHOLDERS  REQUIREMENTS  PROJECT PLAN  CONCERNS  ACTION PLANS

 Suction Feeding  Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)  Doppler Ultrasound ◦ Doppler used in other fields  Blood vessels  Stirred vessel flows (sewage water treatment)

 Dr. Day  Fish  Scientist  MSD Group P15362  Allan Andranikian  RIT

 Current State: ◦ Dr. Day previous PIV testing ◦ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHivHHmYSDc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHivHHmYSDc  Desired State: ◦ Design and Build a test rig that will utilize PIV and DUS ◦ Data acquisition and velocity profiles

 Project Goals: ◦ A fully functional test rig, capable of returning raw data from both PIV and Doppler Ultrasound devices.  The data will be analyzed by Dr. Day ◦ The tests will compare the results of Doppler ultrasound and PIV

Create a test rig that has fully automated parts  Fully automated tracking system  Automated feeding device  Automated as to when to take video of the fish feeding  Automatically output data ◦ Have the data results appear onto one interface  Contraints: ◦ Follow the RIT IACUC  Keep the fish safe ◦ Safe to use

Researcher: Positions rig in the appropriate location with respect to the tank Researcher: Powers the main computer and rig Researcher: Launches test GUI Researcher: Insures proper particulate is in the feeding tank Test Rig: Initializes software Test Rig: Initializes rig and sensors Researcher: Loads automatic fish feeder Researcher: Clicks start on the GUI Test Rig: Filtering pump is powered down Test Rig: Powers PIV and Ultra sound equipment Test Rig: Prepares bait for feeding Test Rig: Starts fish tracking Test Rig: Automatic feeder places bait in the tank Fish: Moves towards bait Fish: Starts suction feeding Test Rig: Data capture is triggered Fish: Suction feeding ends Test Rig: Stops data capture Test Rig: Stops tracking Test Rig: Aggregates data Test Rig: Stores data Test Rig: Formats the data Test Rig : Presents data Test Rig: Prompts user for export preferences Researcher: Provides export preferences Test Rig: Resets for continued testing Researcher: Determines whether or not to continue testing Researcher: Clicks stop button Researcher: powers down the test rig Researcher: Closes the GUI
