2 OBJECTIVES OF BOARD Create an organised and regulated operating environment for all stakeholders Improve the overall quality of tournaments Design appropriate structural arrangement to create interactive relationship with licencees Enhance popularity and support for boxing Develop high performance boxers and ring officials for both the local and international stage Create an enabling environment for the welfare of licencees Provide a seamless transition from amateur to professional ranks

4 RESOLUTIONS Investigate relationship between TV networks, promoters and BSA to enhance the objectives of BSA and all stakeholders Give effect to an efficient and equitable transfer system of boxers Revise contractual terms and conditions on an ongoing basis Increase minimum purses of boxers Raise standards of ring officials on an ongoing basis Persuade ICASA to recognise boxing as local content Review ratings and sanctioning guidelines Establish relationships with Provincial Sports Departments Strengthen Baby Champs League and boxing development Rotate ring officials

5 QUALITY MANAGEMENT Tournaments Promoters Training Promoters to comply with regulations primarily safety Rights fees from networks linked to incentivisation plan to produce quality tournaments Best ring officials to be used on live TV tournaments

6 SPONSORSHIP Vodacom no longer sponsoring BSA Board requested review meeting with Vodacom Search for new sponsor Sufficient funds until 31 December 2006 Priority to redress historical imbalance in corporate support Critical to obtain anchor sponsor to enhance the sport

7 BABY CHAMPS LEAGUE Huge success in terms of support, participation and spectator attraction Many talented boxers unearthed and given an opportunity to impress Also provided platform for female boxers Intention to extend league to include all 17 divisions Opportunity to attract financial supporter

8 TRAINING OF LICENCEES Formal training of 30 top rated professional and 15 amateur boxers and managers at High Performance Centre Focus on technical ability 10 workshops for licencees in Provinces Focus on diet control, ring mechanics, contracts and tax issues

9 2005 ANNUAL REPORT –QUALIFIED ANNUAL REPORT Completeness of licence fees Necessary controls implemented Training for BSA Provincial Reps Non compliance with laws and regulations No audit committee in place – done No materiality framework in place – done CEO not appointed – in progress Certain taxes and levies outstanding – clarified with SARS

10 INTERNAL CONTROLS ADDRESSED Tournament documents reviewed by internal auditors Bank recons performed and reviewed monthly Debtors and Creditors reconciliations performed and reviewed monthly. Authorisation procedures implemented for creditors payments, tournament payments and payroll Segregation of duties procedures strictly followed Audit committee and internal audit established Materiality levels will be finalised at the next audit committee meeting.

11 INTERNATIONAL BODIES Have relations with IBO providing us with access to international fights In discussions with WBA and WBC to conclude agreements Approached Commonwealth Boxing Council to rate SA boxers in the UK

12 ISSUES RAISED DURING PREVIOUS PRESENTATION Time of live broadcast unacceptable Relationship with SANABO to be enhanced Procedure for allocation of TV dates Empowerment credentials of promoters Introduction of Womens’ boxing Poor officiating at tournaments Lack of boxing activity in certain Provinces

13 ASSISTANCE TO NEIGHBOURING STATES Providing boxers to Namibia Formal request from Botswana Boxing Council to help set up appropriate structure Formal request from Lesotho Boxing Commission to help set up structure Providing ring officials to Namibia and Botswana

14 NEW BOARD ACHIEVEMENTS Boxing Foundation registered Outright Belt introduced for new Champions Discussion with Minister to finalise structure Discussions with SABC Sport to improve the quality of Tournaments Revised development program to focus on boxers Successful Baby Champs League staged The 2006 Annual Awards and Convention
