4 In other word they describe nouns. In most sentences it goes before the word it describes the noun. It can also come after the verb.

5 EXAMPLE OF ADJECTIVES shiny sunny bright brown red four

6 We can use them in such a manner He is wearing a shiny red track suite. Shinny red is an adjective. Track suite is a noun. John runs faster than all the boys. faster is an adjective. runs is a verb.

7 WHAT KIND WHICH ONE HOW MANY HOW MUCH ADJECTIVES ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

8 To make perfect sentences follow this order: SIZE My big dog is dead. TEXTURE Thandi’s soft hair. COLOR Nsika has a brown jacket. TYPE The short man ran.

9 DEGREES OF ADJECTIVES: Adjectives can express degree of modification: The degrees of comparison are known as the Positive, the comparative and the superlative. The comparative and superlative show degrees; Comparative for comparing two things. Superlative for comparing three things.

11 Notice that the word than frequently accompanies the comparative and the word the precedes the superlative Gladys is a rich woman, but Josie is richer than Gladys, and Sadie is the richest woman in town. Comparative = suffix – er or ier Superlative = sufix – est or iest
