4 What is ENIAC? It was the first fully electronic digital computer. It contained 18,000 vacuum tubes Required manual rewiring to be programmed.

5 John Mauchly Grew up in Maryland Went to school in washington D.C Started to study engineer at the John Hopkins. His interests changed in the course of his studies He preferred physics He was awarded in doctorate in 1932

8 J Presper Eckert Born in Philadelphia Was an only child and Spent much of his time building radios and other mechanical and electronic devices. Eckert went to the University of Pennsylvania On October 28, 1944, Eckert married Hester Caldwell.

9 More about J Presper Eckert They had two sons, John Presper III and Christopher Hester died in 1952. Eckert married Judith A. Rewalt on October 13, 1962 Had two more children, Laura and Gregory.
