3. Valea Trandafirilor Roses Valey The region known as „the Valley of Roses” in the centre of Bulgaria was the production place of Kalasnoikov and is very prosperous due to its production of roses

4. Nisipurile de aur The Golden Sands This beach is known as one of the best in Europe due to its fine, golden sand and its clean, calm waters.

5. Saint Sofia Church A byzantine jewel, Bulgaria’s famous landmark, also gave the present name to its capital city, meaning „holy wisdom”. The oldest ortodox church in Sofia, with its two towers and a huge dome, dates back to the year 565.

6. Hristo Stoicikov (Христо Стоичков ) Born on 8th february1966, in Plovdiv. He was the greatest Bulgarian player; after retiring from activity he became a coach. He got the „Golden Boot” in 1990 and the „Golden Ball” in 1994.

7. Gheorghi Markov (Георги Марков ) Born on 1st March 1929 and deceased on 11th September 1978. He worked initially as a novelist and playwright, but in 1969 he fled from Bulgaria. After his moving West he worked as a journalist.

8. Eurovision Bulgaria took part in the Eurovision musical contest eight times from their debut in Kiev, 2005. The best result obtained was the fifth place (5th) in 2007, and the worst result was the nineteenth place (19th) in 2005.
