23 Our People Skilled for a Sustainable Future STRATEGY GOING FORWARD PROVIDER CAPACITY – assist with accreditation processes, develop and upgrade capacity of assessors. FUNDING – lack of funds is a huge constraint - assistance needed from DoL and DEAT ( including donor funding from private institutions and other countries). QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK – current to be reviewed, new ones developed. COLLABORATION BETWEEN STAKEHOLDERS – one driver, analyse over lapping SMME – lack of finance, lack of Tourism, marketing and business knowledge CONSTRAINTS

25 Our People Skilled for a Sustainable Future LEARNERSHIP TARGETS THETA is committed to spend R 10.1 million to Sports Learnerships during 2005-2006 450 unemployed learners on THETA sponsored Learnerships Commit to a further 300 to 400 on average per annum for Learnerships up to 2009 Total commitment from THETA – R 40 million over 5 years to the development of sports through Learnerships
