13 Good Students: Come to class every day. (School is like a job.) Ask questions and ask for help. Have a goal. (What do you want to do in the future?) Do homework and study. Practice English at home: Speak English with people outside of class. Read in English every day. Use the Internet or computer programs to learn and practice English.

14 Plan Your Weekly Schedule Fill in your weekly schedule. Think about: Work Class Time Family Time Sleep Driving/Riding the Bus

15 Do you have time to study and do homework? You need time to study and do homework: 1 hour of class = 30 minutes of study time

16 Examples: JuanSoon Level 3A = 2 hours of class Focus on Writing 3 = 1 hour of class How much study time does Juan need outside of class? How about Soon? 2 hours X 30 minutes =3 hours X 30 minutes = 1 hour every day1 hour, 30 minutes every day

24 Your First Day of Class Bring a pencil and a binder with paper. Buy your books from the Bookstore. Tell your teacher if you need help with your books. IMPORTANT: Call your teacher if you cannot come to class!

25 Registration & Cashier’s Office Register for classes. Pay for classes ($25) and Student ID ($5). You can pay later. After you pay, take your picture and get your Student ID. Find your classroom. Ask the teacher if you need help. Go to class on April 6, 2015.
