2 In Gethsemane Jesus balanced the human & divine nature We must do the same – 2 Peter 1:2-4

3 Our Gethsemane Job 14:1-2 – Man who is born of woman is of few days & full of trouble. 2 He comes forth like a flower & fades away; He flees like a shadow & does not continue.

4 Our Gethsemane Rom 9:2-3 – I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh…

5 Our Gethsemane 2 Kings 20:1-2 – Hezekiah was sick & near death. And Isaiah the prophet…said to him, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, & not live.’” 2 Then he turned his face toward the wall, & prayed to the LORD, saying, 3 “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth & with a loyal heart, & have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

6 In Gethsemane JESUS TURNED TO HIS FRIENDS (Disciples) JESUS TURNED TO HIS FRIENDS (Disciples) – Matthew 26:36-38  Prov 18:24 (nasu) – A man of too many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  Prov 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, & a brother is born for adversity.

7 In Gethsemane JESUS WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS FRIENDS JESUS WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS FRIENDS – Matthew 26:41

8 In Gethsemane JESUS PRAYED TO HIS FATHER JESUS PRAYED TO HIS FATHER – Luke 22:41, 43-44; Hebrews 5:7  Jas 5:16 (amp) – The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]  Eph 3:20 – To Him who is able to do exceed- ingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

9 In Gethsemane JESUS ACCEPTED HIS FATHER’S WILL JESUS ACCEPTED HIS FATHER’S WILL – Luke 22:41-42  Rom 15:3 – For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”  Rom 8:28 – We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

10 Overcoming Gethsemane 2 Cor 2:14 – Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ 1 John 5:4-5 – For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes [continues to believe] that Jesus is the Son of God?
