3  George Washington was elected president as the unanimous choice of the electors of both 1788-1789.  Benjamin Franklin served as governor of Pennsylvania in 1785-1788.  John Jay was the 2 nd governor of New York. Also he became the stats leading opponent of slavery.  Thomas Jefferson was the 3 rd president of the United State. Also he is consistently rated as one of the greatest U.S. president.

4  New England- Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island.  Middle Colonies- New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware.  Southern Colonies- Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia.
