2 TEST PREPARATION Follow the Test Preparation and General Study Tips.
REMEMBER—You can’t cram for math!!

3 THE DAY OF THE TEST Get a good night’s sleep.
A quick review of the material before the test should be a summary only. Arrive early so you can be relaxed.

4 FIRST LOOK OVER THE ENTIRE EXAM
Assess questions as to their level of difficulty and point value. Determine how much time to spend on each question. Leave time at the end to check your work.

5 BUDGET YOUR TIME Work quickly and continuously, but write legibly.
If you get stuck, move on and come back to the problem later.

6 DO THE PROBLEMS YOU KNOW FIRST
This builds confidence. You won’t miss any sure points because you run out of time. Plus, you may get a hint on how to do a problem by working other test problems.

7 SHOW ALL YOUR WORK This shows the instructor what you do know.
It maximizes partial credit.

8 NEVER WASTE TIME ERASING
Just draw a line through the work. You might need this information later or it could be used for partial credit. You can usually use additional sheets to work problems.

9 QUESTIONS WITH SEVERAL PARTS
If you can’t do the first part, attempt the other parts. At least explain how you would do it (it could be worth partial credit).

10 CHECK YOUR TEST Read the questions carefully.
Do all the parts of a question. Verify your answers. Budget enough time to check over your test.
