4 Solomon’s Treaty with Egypt Formed a marriage alliance with Egypt I Kings 9:16 – Pharaoh captured Gezer and gave it to his daughter II Chronicles 8:11 – “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places to which the ark of the L ORD has come are holy.”

5 Solomon in Gibeon A High Place where sacrifices were offered The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream Solomon asks for wisdom to “judge Your people”

6 God’s reaction to Solomon What you didn’t ask for Long Life Great Riches Life of your enemies God granted his desire for a wise and discerning heart I will also give you riches and honor Long Life if you walk in My ways

7 Two Women and One Baby Two (2) harlots lived in a house and had son’s 3 days apart One Baby dies Both are before the King to judge the right mother of the living boy Solomon’s judgment showed Israel “the wisdom of God was in him”

8 The Kingdom Division into 12 groups Each responsible for providing for Solomon and his household provisions for a month One day’s provisions: 30 kors fine flour, 60 kors meal, 10 fat oxen, 20 pasture feed oxen, 100 sheep and other wild game (e.g. deer, fowl)

9 Thoughts Do we want to help God today? What would be our reaction to God’s word of “Ask what you wish Me to give you”? Do our own “talents” or desires impede us?
