Solomon as a Type of Christ Wisdom Wealthy King Son of David (2 Samuel 7:12-16) Built God’s House

Solomon as a Type of Christ The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. (Matthew 12:42)

Queen of Sheba’s Seeking Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions…And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. (1 Kings 10:1-2)

Queen of Sheba’s Seeking And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her. (1 Kings 10:3)

Queen of Sheba’s Seeking For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13)

Queen of Sheba’s Observations “And when the queen of Sheba had seen… The Wisdom of Solomon The House of Solomon The Food of His Table The Seating of His Officials The Attendance and Clothing of His Servants & Cupbearers His Burnt Offerings that He Offered at the House of the Lord …there was no more breath left in her.” (1 Kings 10:4-5)

Queen of Sheba’s Declaration The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. (2 Chronicles 9:5-6)

Queen of Sheba’s Declaration And behold, half the greatness of your wisdom was not told me; you surpass the report that I heard. (2 Chronicles 9:6) Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! (Romans 11:33)

Queen of Sheba’s Declaration Happy are your men! Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! (1 Kings 10:8)

Queen of Sheba’s Declaration Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God! Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness. (2 Chronicles 9:8)

Queen of Sheba’s Declaration But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. (Hebrews 1:8-9)

But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name. (John 1:12)

Queen of Sheba’s Response Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices, and precious stones. (2 Chronicles 9:9) And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, whatever she asked besides what she had brought to the king. (2 Chronicles 9:10) & Solomon’s Response

What is Your Response? For our sake he made [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

What is Your Response? For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. (Romans 6:19)
