STREP funded under FP7 programme 36 months –1 st January 2011 to 31 st December 2013 Budget – 3,199,299 euros in total –2,300,000 euros EU grant Consortium –6 partners in 5 countries Alinari left project in November 2012 Basic Facts

Two universities: Two technology enterprises: One cultural heritage enterprise: Consortium

Vast amounts of Cultural Heritage information available online but can be difficult to access PATHS developed a guide through digital library collections –Supports exploration and discovery –Assist in interpretation –Offers recommendations Project Vision

Project Objectives Analysis of user requirements for access to Cultural Heritage collections Implementation of a system for navigating Cultural Heritage resources –Organisation and enrichment of Cultural Heritage content for use within a navigation system –Investigate recommendation and personalisation for Cultural Heritage content –Porting the navigation system for use on mobile devices Evaluation with user groups and in field trials

Third Year Highlights Second version of PATHS prototype system Map-based visualisation Automatically generated hierarchies Recommendations More flexible path structure

Third Year Highlights Lord Kitchener“Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” T. S. Eliot

Third Year Highlights iPad application –Cross-device portability using PATHS API Evaluation complete Focus groups, lab trials and field trials 123 participants in 3 countries

Third Year Highlights Dissemination –SUEDL workshop at TPDL –*SEM typed similarity task –14 papers in 2014 –Cross-project collaboration Enrich workshop with Cultura –EDMPaths Exploitation –Market study and exploitation plan
