2. Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, April 4, 1968)
a Baptist minister who became a civil rights activist
led the 'March on Washington' in 1963 where he gave his "I Have a Dream" speech.
In 1964 he was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial discrimination and segregation.
Prior to his death in 1968, King refocused his attention to opposing the Vietnam War and ending poverty.
King was assassinated on April 4, 1968.
