2. ARTISTIC STATEMENT “Comics From Another Perspective” – shortened to just “Comics” – is a series that uses photography to create comic book style paneling. Comics focuses on philosophical questions and unusual stories and concepts – very few of which are thought of from day to day. Comics is also an experiment in color and editing, as well as adding text and drawings to photography to enhance the idea behind it.

10. BIOGRAPHY Katie Prouty was born Santa Monica, California, in 1990. Drawing since the age of two, she has turned to photography to experiment with the “real” world. She is constantly inspired by strange monsters, Thai food, and ancient cultures. She wishes to be a graphic novelist – not when she grows up, but now – and is working hard to come up with a storyline that she can publish to the web. “Comics From Another Perspective” is a perfect exercise in how paneling should be set up.
